In St. Goar, friends of medieval romance can look forward to the 27. and on July 28, 2013 will once again be a real highlight, as the “Second Medieval Castle Festival” will be celebrated at Rheinfels Castle on these two days. The organizers promise that the event will be fun for all age groups. The castle festival is characterized by being particularly family-friendly. The race kicks off at ten o'clock on Saturday. The party lasts until 8 pm on this day. The action continues on Sunday at eleven o'clock. The event will end at 6 pm.
The program at Rheinfels Castle
Anyone who decides to visit Rheinfels Castle on these days will be transported directly into the Middle Ages. There is a knights' camp on site as well as swordsmen, jugglers, storytellers, medieval musicians and historical craftsmen's stalls. There is also the popular children's face painting for the younger guests. The highlights on Saturday are the sword fights at 2 pm and the trial of the Lahnritter at 5 pm.

The admission prices
Day tickets are sold, the prices of which are staggered according to the age of the respective visitor. If you are under six years old, you can generally visit the castle festival for free. Children between the ages of six and 14 pay three euros admission. Everyone else has to pay seven euros, unless they come dressed up, in which case the entrance fee is reduced to five euros. At the same time, the fun at the festival is much greater if you wear a historical costume yourself, as this brings you one step closer to the Middle Ages.
